Whether you play indoor or beach volleyball one skill remains constant and that is your ability to jump high. This is a skill just like any other skill you would encounter in a sport because you can train and improve your vertical jump. Don’t believe anyone that says that you have to be born being able to jump high or that it is purely genetics. Yes genetics can help, but even if you were not blessed with great genetics for jumping you can increase your vertical leap a ton.

The best way to go about increasing you vertical is to train specifically for it. Don’t just assume that if you play a lot of volleyball and jump all the time that you will naturally jump higher. This is true to a certain extent but it does not mean that you will get amazing results, it means that you will jump a little higher after a year of playing all the time. But the possibility is there for you to get inches every week on your jump height. Eventually you will hit a plateau but that shouldn’t happen until your jumping very high, and by very high I mean in the 40 inches range. So chances are you are currently no where near your potential. The human body is amazing and what it can accomplish is surprising. You simply need to know how to jump higher by doing jump training workouts that work.

There is no better jumping program that any professional athlete or volleyball team uses than what you will find in the J.M.. You can check it out for yourself by Clicking Here. What you will find is a tried and true jump training program that has yielded amazing results for many volleyball and basketball players, including yours truly. I added 2 inches in my first 2 weeks of doing the program. I thought I would go ahead and show you a picture of me playing sand volleyball at the apartment complex where I learned how to play beach volleyball. Oddly enough I learned how to play beach volleyball in Utah of all places and the apartment complex is called Carriage Cove. I learned how to play pretty quickly because I had good teachers that included some players that are currently in the AVP such as Casey Patterson and Bryan Stewart. Some other players that learned how to play the game at that same complex are Casey Jennings, Casey Patterson, Bryan Stewart and I’ve even played a few sand volleyball games with the indoor legend Ryan Millar.

When it comes to beach volleyball training there is nothing more important than vertical jump training. Jumping exercises for volleyball in the sand are different than what you would use for hard court.

Plyometric exercises are the most important aspect of vertical training for volleyball. In order to get the results that you really want out of a program you have to know what works and what doesn’t.

Most coaches are not trained in jump training and for that reason they are unqualified to teach their players how to jump higher. So they have their team run forever and condition them in the worst way possible.

In order to really gain extra inches on your vertical leap you have to make sure that you are training your muscles to be powerful and not to be endurance muscles. We aren’t trying to run a marathon here, we need the fast twitch muscle fibers not the slow twitch.

The biomechanics (kinesiology) and physiology behind jump training is very important to focus on. You first have to have the sufficient strength to begin a plyometric workout for volleyball. Once you legs are strong enough from doing controlled weighted lifts such as squats, you can start a high intensity jump program.

Vertical jump training for beach volleyball will be more intense than any other jumping program because of how difficult it is to move in the sand.

There are all kinds of volleyball training drills that will make you better with your ball handling skills but sometimes it’s not your skills with the ball that makes for a good play. When training for volleyball you need to focus on increasing your vertical. If you aren’t jumping 44 inches out of the sand you have room for improvement. Some people think that they jump as high as they will ever be able to jump but they are wrong. To increase your vertical you need to do plyometric exercises along with strength training workouts. Vertical training for volleyball is one of the most important things you can do to ensure that you are the best you can possibly be. Beach volleyball requires more vertical jumping than any other sport in the world. Every point requires almost everyone on the court to jump at least one time and some players will jump multiple times during each rally. Not only does beach volleyball have more jumping but you are jumping out of sand which makes it that more challenging, tiring, and difficult.
So how do you INCREASE VERTICAL in beach volleyball? The jump manual workouts are the best that I have seen to increase your vertical for volleyball. Jump training for volleyball can be increased fairly quickly when following the JUMP MANUAL. I recommend checking out Jacob Hiller’s Jump Manual Program by clicking HERE. On his page you will see testimonial of many different athletes and coaches. I know some of the athletes that have used it and I have personally used it myself and saw an inch increase in my vertical in the first week. If you do the workouts you will see results, it’s as simple as that. It’s time you take your beach volleyball game to the next level so start doing some jump training the right way and be surprised when you are jumping 10 inches higher.
